Is there a way to start talking to him...without STARTING to talk to him?

So there's this boy i have a crush on. I went to school with him last year, and he was in a couple of my classes. but we've never talked. i just think he's super cute...but anyway. he requested to be my friend on facebook. and of course i accepted. but it's kind of one of those things where your friends because you have a lot of friends in common and you know OF the person, but not necessarily know the person. but i would really like to start talking to him via messages on facebook so that maybe we'll get to talking more and hang out eventually...i don't really know. but the point is i want to start talking to him. the only thing is i don't know how to go about it. i'm shy at first, and im not the type of girl who just starts messaging someone i don't know that well. so how should i start talking to him...is there anything on facebook, like some application where i'll answer a question about him or something that might strike up a conversation???? what should i do!!!

well i'm a guy and was in the same boat with a girl i really liked and tried talkin to her on facebook and she just ignored me completely. but either way i can say facebook started up my confidence to get talkin.

Well, hi Maycee. there is this thing that is called ';friends exposed'; on face book where you answer question about people in your friends list, they have really funny questions. Well i'll use my own opinion what I think you should do is take a really hot picture of your self (don't do things over rated) then tag alot of people that you know that are under your friends on face book that you are really friends with and you know. So then what you should do is tag him in the picture, it will show on his wall that you have tagged him, then most likely he will view it. Then when he gets online send him an IM then start a conversation (you should start it off by saying ';did you see the picture i tagged you in';). Now you just have the conversation from there.
