How can i get him to like me?

I am 15 and in 10th grade and i have this friend named Louis, he's 16. We've been pretty close friends since we were in 8th grade and I have developed a crush on him starting this year. We have soooo much fun together and we trust each other a lot, he's awesome but he's developing a crush on my friend, Samantha... I don't think he likes me i know he likes to hang out with me like i said we have sooo much fun together but its like this with us: we only talk to each other if i start the conversation.. he will NEVER start the conversation.. and we only hang out if i suggest it or ask him to hang out... he does sometimes but not very often at all... so this makes me think he doesnt like me and that we arent VERY close friends just friends but when we do talk/hang out we have fun and we laugh together SO MUCH its great and we do hang out kind of a lot but i suggest that we hang out EVERY SINGLE TIME ... so i want him to like me and i don't want to tell him because i dont want to ruin our friendship... so any ideas?

soo my questions are:

1)why does he never start a convo first? or suggest that we hang out first?

btw he's not shy AT ALL. just by looking at him you can tell that he's crazy and funny and confident... he doesnt care what other people think of him.. but he's not cocky at ALL

2) what should i do about him liking my friend? my friend likes him too but they dont know that the other one likes them.. if that makes sense so what should i do?

i mean i care about him enough so that i feel that whatever makes him happy he should do ... but its sooo hard to watch him like someone else since i like him so much

alright the reason he doesnt start a convo with you is because right now he only see's you guys as friends. he has no further interest at this time. if you mention to him that you like him or hint to him maybe he will get the clue. start flirting. some guys also like when the girl take charge and plan stuff... thats how i am. i dont like chasing girls.

That is ALOT. Well, let's break it down...1) He likes your friend. 2) He wont talk to you first. 3) He doesnt ask you to hang out..and you ask to first..

Well, there's not much to tell you, but I guess you should just causally tell him you like him. It may not end up well, but hey, he likes your friend and not you...what a douche. The best you can do is tell him about it, hang out more, or find someone else to distract you for a while..so you get over him..Hope I helped...?
if i was you i would just flat out tell him that you like him and ask him if he likes you back.
Why don't you just tell him how you feel? If he's your close friend then I'm absolutely sure even if he doesn't feel the same way it won't ruin your friendship. And by the way, girls tend to confuse friendship-like behavior with relationship-like behavior, so maybe you're just not used to being with a guy that acts just like a girl you were friends with out.
Well there isn't much you can do...If he doesn't like you, just let him go, move on and maybe someday he comes around

you should never get a guy to like you. you have to have him go for you. you should try it, but it'll be hard and end up nasty. maybe hang out with him more, call him, or even ignore him to see if he notices you ignoring him.
