Advice (from girls and guys )?

i've been crushing on this guy for a long time. now i think i might have the confidence to talk to him. i really am only by him once in the halls so i figure ill walk next to him with a friend or 2 and we'll be talking but somehow i need to figure out how to get the conversation to drift from us to small talk with him. i dont want to be really obvious that i like him. talking 2 someone i never have ever is weird enough but i need some quick conversation ideas that will be quick, interesting, memorable, but not insane (im not super outgoing and im quiet) if ur a guy, imagin being the guy im talking about. u dont know me, im in the hallway, what small talk do i say to u to start a conversation and get your attention so we talk more? if ur a girl, what would u do if ur me (quiet, dont want to make a fool of herself, never talked to the guy before)Advice (from girls and guys )?
As a guy, I guess the only thing I can say is to just go up to him and say hi and try to find something unique to him to ask about. I always liked it when girls asked what book I was reading and what it was about. Try to offer some personal thought of your own to give him an idea of your identity, something you like, maybe. I think most guys tend to think a girl likes them if she is really sweet and seems interested, so that shouldn't be a problem. Just finding something to talk about to someone you've never talked to is tricky, but you'll think of something. Personally, I've always liked kind of shy, quiet girls.Advice (from girls and guys )?
Id just say hi, usually that interests most guys and 'could' be a conversation starter.
if i like a guy, then i try to talk to him like i talk to any other idiots...

just be yourself and don't try to act cool or else he'll think that u are... spoiled, i guess?

and if ur shy, then just laugh at like everything that he says

men are never complimented enough. they love it.

don't say anything too crazy like, nice butt.. hehe, but just say something like, ';hey those are some great shoes';

or.. you could mention something that you noticed about him

ex... ';hey, you're the guy who made that joke in math class today... that was awesome';

something like that.. should get the convo going.
